Butterflies & Moths
1990s (Farm)Butterfly Galleries
2000: "Studio" Photography

Butterflies are active during the day and are seldom content to sit still for the photographer. Moths, being mostly nocturnal, tend to be far more cooperative!

I do not believe in causing stress or harm to my subjects just to get a photograph, so there have been many missed opportunities. As a result there are several species - most notably the Monarch - that I have been unable to photograph well enough to satisfy my 'inner critic'.

... but there is always 'next year'...
